Did you know that the West Cork Model Railway Village is a not for profit community enterprise? It’s governed by a board of voluntary directors. Any profit is re-directed to developing the Model Village.
The project was developed nearly 30 years ago with the main aim to provide a significant educational and visual interest to both the local and tourist alike and to bring a much-needed employment scheme to Clonakilty.
A dedicated talented group of workers set to work to make the Model Village what it is today. With the help from government agencies, FÁS and now Pobal, the Model Village has developed into a national attraction.
You can help support the Model Village by purchasing a lotto ticket.
The lotto takes place every Thursday and the jackpot is over €9,000. If the jackpot amount isn’t won, four €40 lucky dips are on offer.
